Below you will find a number of letters/templates that can be edited and used for Performance Management. You may also need to refer to the disciplinary folder if formal action is taken due to poor performance.

Performance management is all about improving an employee's performance - therefore it should be done at the earliest opportunity when you notice something is wrong. Performance management should seek to improve and develop an employee's capabilities. Depending on the level of severity, this might be an informal chat in the first instance. However, if things do not improve (and you are giving regular feedback), then there is a more formal process which is set out below. Remember, these templates are a starting point only and you will need to refer to your in house policies and procedures to make sure the process you undertake is in line with what is set out in your procedures/handbook.
